KX-TDE, launched in September 2007, builds on and extends the capability of
the KX-TDA. It does everything that the KX-TDA does, and a lot more. The TDE is
designed to take full advantage of BT's
21st Century Network
(21CN), due to be rolled out across the UK in the next few years. 21CN is
designed to deliver a wide range of services, including telephony, data
networking and Internet access over a single connection. Instead of having your
broadband access piggy-backed on to an analogue phone line, with separate lines
for ISDN2, ISDN30, Analogue voice, data networking and point to point voice
links, everything will be provided over a single IP connection. This single
connection will allow you to make phone calls, use the Internet, link your
offices for data and voice and work with home workers who can have full access
to your telephone and computer network just as though they were office-based. It
will also allow your staff to connect with office systems over the Internet,
even using mobile connections such as Wi-Fi hot-spots.
KX-TDE uses a new more powerful processor than the KX-TDA and has built in IP
(Internet Protocol) capability as standard, rather than having it provided by
additional cards within the control unit as on the KX-TDA. The principal
differences are:-
