Telecall has a wealth of experience working with educational establishments. A typical installation may consist of a combined voice and data network with computer and telephone outlets distributed over the campus and fibre optic links between buildings. ID Badge readers on main entrance doors will control entry to buildings/car parks and doorphones will be used to allow authorised visitors to gain entry. Different doors can have different access levels, with some being staff-only or computer suites being restricted to authorised users only.
Voicemail allows parents to leave messages if pupils are going to be absent and a variety of systems might be deployed to allow rapid contacting of parents. While e-mail is relatively quick and cheap it does not have the immediacy of a phone call or text message, which will generally be seen much more quickly. We can integrate the phone system with the pupil records, allowing you to make fast and effective phone calls direct from the records screens or to send bulk text messages to mobile phones in the event of a school closure.
If an event affects the school that is reported in the local media we can rapidly deploy spoken messages to be played to callers, e.g. "Damage to the Science Block will prevent some lessons from taking place but all pupils should report for school as normal. We can provide loudspeaker systems allowing messages to be broadcast to particular areas or across the school and also to play pre-recorded emergency evacuation announcements.

Phones can be protected with passwords which allow them to be used internally but prevent chargeable calls from being made without the password.
