The Future

The UK AIS Website at http://www.ais.org.uk went live on 19 August 2002 and had a lot of problems.

Most of the core problems have now been resolved and the site works largely as designed. However much still needs to be done, both to educate users so that they can use it with confidence, and to improve the user interface so that pilots can readily understand it.

On this site you will find historical information, learning resources, a guide on how to obtain a good NOTAM briefing and details of the ongoing work being done by UK GA pilots, working with AIS and the CAA to further improve the site.

Getting NOTAM is a guide to getting a good NOTAM Briefing.

Background gives you background information on AIS and the NOTAM system, while NOTAM goes into more detail.
